| Le Domaine du Vernay is located in Mazille,
an authentic place
Considered as one of the most attractive Saône
et Loire villages.
Two historical buildings are set aside by the
undulating landscape covered with low stone walls
: the prieuré des Moines which belonged
to Cluny Abbey, and a stylish Roman church curiously
isolated on the border of the Stream Repentir.

| Le Domaine du Vernay, built in 1769
along the Royal Road between Mâcon and Charolles
(now D17) was long dedicated to wine growing and
business. It reached the third millennium nearly
exactly as it was at first. |
| The main building, which is quite big, is
in golden stones. It has lintelled windows giving
it some stylishness. Inside, there are floors
covered with big stone slabs or wood, ceilings
à la française and ancient chimneys. There
is a huge vaulted cellar below.

The outbuildings, built on each side of
a large yard, shed an impressive eighteenth-century
wine press made in a single tree trunk, as well as a
bread oven and a pigeon loft. |
